200 Miles

The next day ended up looking like this:

Hurricane Earl, the latest storm to give us good waves. Earl was originally expected to actually hit the Jersey coast, which got me kind of scared, considering my house would’ve gotten destroyed if it made a direct hit. However, Earl decided to turn away from the coast and pass us at a safe distance of 200 miles, causing only mild beach erosion and huge waves. Friday saw waves in the overhead to double overhead range, with heavy barrels, while Saturday saw head high to overhead waves with heavy, but amazing barrels. It was a great day to test out my new board, which I’ll try to post some shots of sometime soon. Let’s hope that we get another storm soon!
