Christmas break was pretty crazy. I did a lot of pointless things, including getting two crappy rolls of medium format developed, and shot a roll of B&W. I got a lot of new books and also got a  mandolin for Christmas, which will appear on here sometime sooner or later. A few sunny days in the country, a few cloudy days in the city, a good mix of cold and warm weather over the past few weeks. I’m really enjoying it. These photos are really obscure but they effectively capture everything I’ve been doing recently.

I don’t think I’ll have many photos up anytime soon to be completely honest, because I’m going to be really busy over the course of this month. But hopefully by the time February rolls in I’ll have a few ready.

This weekend, I took a trip to Virginia with my family and checked out the countryside. There’s a lot to see down there, at some point in my life, I’m doing a roadtrip to see more of the area. A lot more hills there than in Jersey. These are all digital, surprisingly, hope you enjoy them!

I haven’t really done much the past couple of weeks, but this weekend I got out and took some shots with Katie at a cranberry bog  (which I’ve been wanting to do) and an abandoned farm. Unfortunately I missed the actual cranberry harvest this year, but the bogs themselves are still beautiful. Hope you dig these as much as I do, and check back soon for more photos!

I finally got back a roll of 36 photos from this summer which I’ve been wanting to get back for a long time. These are I think the best photos from the roll.

If you haven’t heard it yet, listen to the new Red Hot Chili Peppers record, it’s fantastic. Josh Klinghoffer is a great guitarist.

I’m hoping to change the theme of this blog soon, so hopefully it won’t be this ugly thing much longer.

These are really just random photos which I’ve been taking, I haven’t really done a photoshoot in a while, as you can clearly see, but I’m trying to schedule a few for the fall, especially peak leaf week and late september, so keep an eye out for some photo shoots, and some polaroids, too, cause I’m going to get my Polaroid 210 Land Camera working, and I’m going to work with some medium format film and more 35mm as well. Last night, I went down to the beach to shoot photos of nick and his ukulele in the twilight. Disappointingly, the moon wasn’t visible because it got cloudy, but I do like these shots.

This week I went home and hiked around and picked blueberries with my friend Kara. These were taken on 35mm film, and the last one was a double exposed image (accidental).

It’s a bit late, but happy 4th of July. This is the first time I’ve gotten a good shot of the fireworks, they usually turn out pretty bad, but moving towards the beach closer to the water proved to be a good idea.

Should have some shots up pretty soon, keep checking somewhat frequently for some, I just bought a polaroid, so that should be making a debut soon. Other than that, not much is going on.

Yet another roll of film has made its way through my old Canon AE-1. I went out and shot with Hope and Rob and we had a successful day of exploration around the woods near my house.  We visited bridges, lake, woods and creeks and docks as I tried to capture everything on a roll of 35mm film.

 This week, I did quite a bit of exploring, first with Nick canoeing and then with Rob and Jill driving around. We explored some places nearer my house and near Chatsworth and I shot our adventures on a roll of 35mm film. The past several weeks have been awesome, and I captured a lot of stuff on film. I really like these shots here, especially the last four and I hope you like them as much as I do.  By the way, the folk instruments pictured above are mandolins, dulcimers and banjos. I picked up a dulcimer last week for myself, and I have to say, I’m really digging the way it sounds.

These shots are from this weekend’s ramblings through the woods. The forest is really amazing this time of year, and I’ve unfortunately missed most of May, so I’m going to do a lot of exploring this month instead. So far, I’ve seen quite a few wildflowers and I’ve ridden a lot of sand trails through the Pines. Usually, spring, and in particular, May, is my most fruitful time in terms of photos, but this year, that’s not exactly the case. I haven’t really posted many photos, and I really haven’t taken many photos. Life was too busy this month, but hopefully I’ll have more photos in June, which is always my favorite month. In the meantime, enjoy these shots from random walks and drives through the Pine Barrens and the country.

After a long period of pretty much no photos, I finally have a good number of shots. This week, I explored the woods and rode down numerous sand roads that meandered through the forests of the Pine Barrens. The most beautiful time of day is late afternoon, and combined with the newly flowering plants and trees and the returning birds, the forest in the evening is an amazing display of life and beauty. There’s not much else like it in my opinion.
